All of us have struggled with anxiety at some point in time. It is a very difficult mental illness as it is one of the most common ones to afflict us. Some common symtpoms of anxiety include:
Feeling nervous or tense
Having difficulty controlling worry
Anxiety varies per person and so do coping mechanisms. Below is a list of healthy coping mechanisms that are universally used for treatment of anxiety:
Talk with Someone. Talking with someone is often helpful because while walking through your thoughts, you will find yourself feeling a little bit more calm.
Take a Short Break. Though it may seem contradictory when you have a lot on your plate, it does help to take a 5-10 minute break. Focus on your breathing during this time and do something such as meditation to slow your mind and heart rate.
Listen to Music. Listening to classical, soft pop, and other similar genres music are proven to lower anxiety. See some of the resources below for some playlists.
